A Snapshot of our Time at the Feeding our Neighbors 2019 Benefit
On Friday, May 3rd, Byline was honored to spend an evening at the Evanston Arts Center in support of Meals at Home’s 2019 Gala: Feeding our Neighbors. Meals at Home provides much-needed care to seniors through its mission to foster health, individual well-being and independence by delivering nutritious meals, medically prescribed diets, and providing other supportive services to the homebound, elderly, disabled, veterans and others temporarily unable to care for their nutritional needs.
The program, which now serves residents of Chicagoland’s North Shore communities in both Cook and Lake Counties, was started in 1968 through a joint effort between CEDA (Community and Economic Development Association) of Cook County and St. Francis Hospital in Evanston. It is now a member organization of Meals on Wheels America and last year—with the help of more than 400 volunteers—the charity delivered over 42,000 meals during its 50th Anniversary year.
This year’s Gala was all in the name of a very worthy cause, but that doesn’t mean that guests didn’t know how to have a great time supporting it! Our local Byliners watched with satisfaction as bidding at the live auction drove items like tickets to see the Rolling Stones, a stay at a treehouse home on Martha’s Vineyard and more sky-high (the surprise hit of the evening? The “Mastering the Art of Ramen” class, hosted by Furious Spoon).
Byline has been a proud part of Chicagoland for over 100 years, and we take our responsibility to our neighborhoods very seriously. It’s an honor to be a trusted bank where we live and work, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to give back to the people who keep each of our diverse communities strong and vibrant. We’re just where we want to be.
