A Day at the 2019 Invitational Shootout in Lemont
On Friday, May 31, links-minded Byliners welcomed summer by supporting Hickory Hills Mayor Mike Howley’s Two Person Scramble Charity Golf Outing at the Invitational Shootout, held at the Ruffled Feathers Golf Club in Lemont. This was a new location for the event, and participants enjoyed one of the season’s first truly gorgeous days on the links.
Since its inception in 1996, the Shootout has grown to be a linchpin of the local summer charitable season and now, an ever-growing band of local business and community leaders (just like us!) have made it not only a beloved tradition, but also a charitable powerhouse – together, organizers, sponsors, volunteers and participants have raised over $100,000 for local and neighborhood organizations.
Mayor Mike Howley’s Two Person Scramble at the Shootout was again in aid of Pat Mac’s Pack, which supports pediatric brain tumor research. All proceeds went to the cause.
This year, Byline was proud to be a Hole Sponsor at the Shootout and local Byliners represented us well, and cheered on all competitors in good spirits. The Scramble is a great example of how community leaders can leverage their varying scales and scopes to raise money for a variety of charitable causes in one event.
For over 100 years, Byline has been a key Chicagoland player (both on the links and off) and we are always pleased to strengthen and display our ties within our communities from North to South, from beachside communities to far-west townships. When local leaders partner to bring benefits to their vibrant and diverse communities, everybody wins!
