Our Weekend at Pride Fest
This summer, Byline was indeed proud to join with community leaders as a sponsor of the 2019 Chicago Pride Fest. The Fest is an annual event in Lakeview’s Boystown, America’s first recognized gay village and draws more than 75,000 attendees every year (and growing!).
Byline was honored to be a part of this vibrant and inclusive celebration which featured live music on three stages (plus DJs and dancing, to mix things up), as well as drag shows, the incredibly popular pet parade, more than 100 local and regional artisans and vendors, and some of the best food and drink festival offerings in Chicago.
Byliners who could be dragged away from the entertainment at hand were kept busy manning our busy booth. Returning by popular demand from last year was our Byline photo booth, which had Festgoers lining up all weekend…although guests waiting in line managed to keep themselves entertained taking selfies with our photo frame cutout (also a sleeper hit with our booth Byliners!).
The annual Pride Fest kicks off two weekends of community celebrations, which are capped by the Pride Parade the following Sunday. All the events go to benefit the Northalsted Business Alliance, which has worked tirelessly since 1980 to promote the four-block area of North Halsted (from Barry Street to West Irving Park Road. The Alliance has been formally recognized as a major force in the community, championing positive change and growth, and Byline was honored to support its efforts, and the neighborhood which continues to champion, protect and grow it.
For more than 100 years, Byline has been a fixture of the neighborhoods where we live, work and play. We continue to be grateful and honored to be able to give back to the people who truly inspire us. It’s like we always say: we love this town.
