Our Day at the Tinley Park Chamber of Commerce 61st Annual Golf Outing
On July 17, Byline was proud to join with local business and community leaders to support the Tinley Park Chamber of Commerce Annual Golf Outing. The Outing, which literally gets started with a “bang” at the shotgun start, is an all-day networking event for almost 200 Tinley Park Chamber supporters. It’s action-packed, too: with a continental breakfast, lunch on the course, dinner buffet with an open bar, raffles, ‘hole in one’ and ‘longest drive’ contests and more, the day flew by and was a joy on many levels.
The Annual Golf Outing was held at The Odyssey Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides both the therapeutic and recreational benefits of golf to veterans, active military personnel, and children and adults with special needs.
Fun fact: 23 non-profits (and counting!) have held outings at the Foundation, and these have supported nearly 30,000 rounds of golf for veterans and other Foundation clients. Because groups like the Tinley Park Chamber of Commerce support the Foundation through holding their events at the course, the Odyssey can provide free golf instruction, practice and education to participants. Locally, this practice is fondly known as “Golf for the Greater Good” and our local branch Byliners were proud to be a part of this day and to support both the Chamber and the Foundation’s community efforts.
Although the day was all for a good cause and in good fun, it was still all participants “go” on the course, and Byliners cheered on “our” sponsored golfers as the competition heated up. At Byline, we love it when a great cause and a great day come together…and this year’s Golf Outing was the perfect example of a few of our favorite things.
Byline has been a proud and integral part of Chicagoland for over 100 years, and we take our responsibility to our neighborhoods very seriously.
