A Snapshot of Our Weekend in Western Chicagoland!
On June 29 and 30, Byline was proud to support the City of Hickory Hills as a sponsor of the 41st Annual Street Fair and Fest. The fair, which stretched along Roberts Road between 91st and 94th Streets, featured something for participants of all ages, with a huge variety of local artisans, beer and wine stops, food vendors, entertainment and rides.
The streets went “live” on Saturday night, when hometown-band Logical Confusion kicked things off with a free outdoor concert in the Main Stage Beer Tent. Revelers got into the spirit of the Fair, which has become an integral part of the fabric of Hickory Hills, as the local band jammed out to the Chicago trio, whose music represents the results of the trio’s: “lifetime of listening, learning, and extending histories of music’s astounding impression.”
The next day put a literal spin on the term “Windy City,” as the weather more than justified Chicagoland’s reputation and vendor tents threatened to fly off to Oz. But the stiff breezes just added to the general fun in the air and Festgoers perused block after block of handmade arts and crafts from local artisans and vendors. Exhibitors at the Fest often return year after year due to the crowds that come out to support them and their wares, and this year was no exception.
There was plenty to do for attendees of all ages (even the little ones who somehow didn’t want to shop until they dropped). At nearby Kasey Meadow Park, families enjoyed rides and attractions all afternoon, as entertainment and music continued to keep shoppers’ spirits up from the Fair’s music stages.
Byline understands the importance of continuity and tradition, as well as community and coming together, and we’re honored to have been a part of this year’s Street Fair and Fest. And next year, we’ll be ready to jam out at the 42nd Annual Hickory Hills event as well. It’s like we always say: we’re just where we want to be.
