CHICAGO, IL (November 30, 2021) – In honor of Giving Tuesday, and in continual commitment to helping communities grow and thrive, Byline Bank announced $20,000 in local donations, provided through $5,000 being awarded to four local charitable organizations in Evanston, Oak Park, Oswego and the West Town neighborhood of Chicago.
“We’re proud to support our local community organizations that provide crucial services and access to basic necessities and opportunities in the neighborhoods where we live and work,” said Megan Biggam, Executive Vice President, Head of Retail Banking. “Beyond financial contributions, our market leaders and branch employees take our role as trusted community members to heart, volunteering hundreds of hours of their time with local organizations.”
The organizations that received contributions this month are:
- Youth & Opportunity United (Y.O.U.) in Evanston works to close the opportunity gap and prepare youth for post-secondary and life success. Y.O.U. serves over 1,600 youth each year through afterschool and summer learning programs, clinical counseling, street outreach, and family engagement.
- Community Fridge in Oak Park works to address food insecurity in the village through volunteer-led efforts to collaborate with like-minded business partners to maintain a community refrigerator in the village.
- Kendall County Community Food Pantry in Oswego-Yorkville provides food, household goods, personal care items and other necessities to neighbors in need in Kendall County.
- Be Alright Chicago in West Town works to connect survivors of domestic violence to resources and to support the work of domestic violence shelters in Chicago. The organization holds annual back-to-school drives and holiday events for the families it helps.
