Stephen Ball, Head of Business Banking at Byline Bank
Byline Bank has deepened its capabilities to support small businesses in Illinois, Wisconsin and Northwest Indiana by forming a team of experienced bankers who represent “boots on the ground” to work closely with customers to increase access to capital. The Business Banking team will partner with Byline’s neighborhood branch personnel to deliver best-in-class combined retail and business banking solutions and advisory services.
Byline’s Business Banking team is led by Stephen Ball, Senior Vice President, who brings nearly 30 years of banking experience to Byline and is responsible for ensuring a strong team is available to serve small businesses throughout the branch network.

Robert Baitler, Vice President – Based in the Oswego area, Baitler’s banking career spans nearly 30 years working for financial institutions such as Fifth Third Bank, MB Financial Bank, Cole Taylor and National City Bank. He is a proven leader in relationship management, staff development and strategic planning.
Tony Brylewski, Vice President – Brylewski is located in Tinley Park and brings customers more than 20 years of banking experience. This includes commercial credit analysis, small business lending and business banking, primarily focused on Chicago middle-market businesses, with previous roles at Fifth Third Bank, MB Financial Bank and PNC.
Jennifer Cortese, Vice President – Based in Oak Park, Cortese brings more than 30 years of experience to Byline’s business banking customers. This includes roles at Fifth Third Bank, U.S. Bank, Signature Bank and LaSalle Bank, and she specializes in lending growth, lending and cash management solutions.
Tim Harrington, Vice President – Harrington is based in Evanston and offers customers nearly 30 years of experience at financial institutions, including Fifth Third Bank, MB Financial Bank and Merrill Lynch. His focus is on instilling exceptional customer relations throughout Byline’s teams and processes.
Ushma Patel, Divisional Assistant – Patel has nearly 30 years of experience, including most recently as a business banking relationship specialist at Fifth Third Bank and previously a lead business banking associate at MB Financial Bank.
