Byline Bank has partnered with the Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago (FHLBC) to provide $35,000 in grants to (i) Beyond Hunger, (ii) Connections for the Homeless, and (iii) My Block, My Hood, My City through the FHLBC’s Targeted Impact Fund. These organizations are critical to many people across the Chicagoland area, and these funds will help them to continue to support the community.
As the COVID-19 pandemic and its economic impact continue to ravage communities, some populations have been disproportionately affected by this crisis, including Black, Latino, American Indian, elderly, rural and low- and moderate-income communities in general. In response to the need of addressing the racial and poverty equity disparities in these communities, FHLBC announced the creation of the Targeted Impact Fund.
“I’m incredibly excited that Byline was able to administer these grants through the Federal Home Loan Bank’s Targeted Impact Fund,” said Jake Gross, Vice President, CRA Officer, of Byline Bank. “We look forward to continued partnership with these three grantees and with other nonprofit partners across the Chicagoland area.”
Byline has also supported many local businesses during the coronavirus pandemic by working with them to obtain loans through the Paycheck Protection Program. At a critical time for struggling businesses, Byline was pleased to facilitate access to capital to help doors stay open.
