You Inspire Us!
On August 4, Byline was proud to support Chicago Public Schools (CPS), 50th Ward Alderman Debra Silverstein, and other local business and civic leaders by serving as a sponsor of the annual 50th Ward Back to School Fair.
The fair, which was held at Indian Boundary Park, is an important landmark for more than 500 local school-age children, who receive backpacks stuffed with school supplies for the upcoming school year. This effort helps to allay a large financial burden for many 50th Ward families, and ensures that kids entering school can do so ready to learn and fully equipped for the year ahead…protractors, markers, and all.
The Fair is also an opportunity for local families to mix and mingle and form a sense of community as a new year kicks off in the neighborhood. These relationships help to foster a safe and inclusive environment for everyone—which is one of the reasons that representatives from Chicago Alternative Policing Strategy (CAPS) were on hand, to demonstrate some of the technology and resources that are helping both police and community members work together and keep their neighborhoods safe, block by block.
We at Byline respect and approve of events like this one, which demonstrate a spirit of inclusivity and a proud evidence of continued dedication to positivity on both sides of the political street, and we were happy that we could be a part of the experience too, right alongside our own local friends and families.
Byline has been a proud and integral part of Chicagoland for more than 100 years, and we take our responsibility to our neighborhoods very seriously. It’s an honor to be a trusted bank where we live and work, and we are thrilled to have the opportunity to give back our own time and talents to the people around us who keep their neighborhoods strong and vibrant. We’re just where we want to be.
